PC Manufacturers Highlight AI Innovations at CES

At the Consumer Electronics Show, top PC makers revealed their cutting-edge AI PCs powered by neural processing units. HP, Lenovo, Dell, Acer, and Asus showcased exciting innovations in a packed Las Vegas event.

HP introduced two impressive models: the Z2 Mini and the ZBook Ultra. These machines are designed for 3D design enthusiasts and those tackling heavy graphic projects. The ZBook Ultra boasts the AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO processor with options for 16 desktop-class CPU cores, strong integrated graphics, and up to 128GB of unified memory. Users can dedicate a whopping 96GB of RAM to the GPU, making this a powerhouse for demanding tasks.

Lenovo stood out with its AI Now feature on the ThinkPad X9, powered by Intel Core Ultra. This advanced on-device AI assistant taps into a local large language model, specifically Meta’s Llama 3.0. With everything running locally, it enhances security while automating tasks like document management and device oversight. Lenovo plans to further develop AI Now to allow searches across multiple devices and smart retrieval from specific image portions or document sections.

Dell’s focus was on streamlining AI development. Their Dell Pro AI Studio equips developers with tools and templates that work seamlessly regardless of the underlying silicon. This innovation can cut development time dramatically, reducing a six-month timeframe to as little as six weeks.

Acer showcased its Copilot+ series, featuring Swift Go 16 AI and Swift Go 14 AI laptops, plus Aspire C AI all-in-ones. Powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors and equipped with AMD’s XDNA 2 NPU architecture, these devices promise up to 50 tera operations per second. The Swift Go laptops offer impressive battery life, lasting up to 24.9 hours on video playback, making them highly reliable for daily use. Acer also rolled out Intel Core Aspire S AI and Revo Box AI models.

Asus displayed its Snapdragon-powered Zenbook A14. Utilizing Snapdragon X Series Processors, this laptop presents 45 watts of performance and can deliver 45 tera operations per second in AI tasks. Asus claims it achieves up to 32 hours of battery life, with customizable options via MyASUS Battery Care Mode. The Zenbook A14 is also equipped with multiple ports, including USB 4.0, an audio jack, type-A, and HDMI.
