Primark extends IT outsourcing contract with TCS for another five years

Primark, a leading fashion retailer, has extended its contract with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for five more years in order to support its expansion plans, particularly in the IT sector.

The initial partnership between Primark and TCS began in 2016 and the new agreement ensures the relationship will continue until at least 2029. Covering 17 countries in Europe and the US, the deal will focus on implementing intelligent automation and DevOps capabilities, as well as providing a real-time view of technology and business systems to enhance application development, testing, and maintenance processes.

Andrew Brothers, CIO of Primark, stated that the extended partnership with TCS will help the company achieve its growth goals by establishing a robust and reliable IT infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of operational stability and accountability in supporting the expansion of the business and responding effectively to market trends and customer preferences.

With more than 80,000 employees and 440 stores worldwide, Primark is continuously growing and evolving. TCS, which serves various UK retail clients including Sainsbury’s, Kingfisher, Marks & Spencer, and Co-op, understands the importance of leveraging technology to adapt to the changing retail landscape.

In a recent interview, TCS UK head Amit Kapur highlighted the significance of having a deep understanding of a customer’s needs and business context. This understanding is crucial for long-term partnerships between IT services providers and their clients, as seen in the extended collaboration between Primark and TCS.
