TechUK, a technology sector trade body, has honored four industry leaders for their innovative use of digital technology to make positive impacts on society, culture, and the economy in the UK.
In the second annual President’s Awards, TechUK recognized individuals who are pushing the boundaries to use technology for good. The winners in each of the four award categories are as follows:
For the People Award, Chris Whitehouse, the customer experience director at Collaboraite, won for creating a tool called Welfare Assist to protect online investigators from harmful content.
In the Economy category, Toby Jones, the CEO of TJC, won for creating the Accelerated Capability Environment to address public safety and security challenges.
Jennifer Neff, the managing director of Access Elemental, won the Society Award for providing social prescribing software to improve community wellbeing.
Eric Zie, the CEO of GoCodeGreen, won the Planet Award for promoting sustainability in the digital sector.
Sheila Flavell, COO of FDM Group and TechUK president, praised the winners for their innovative use of technology for good, while Nicola Hodson, deputy president of TechUK and CEO of IBM UK and Ireland, highlighted the outstanding work being done by TechUK members.
