Red Bull Racing Partners with 1Password for 2025 Season Security

1Password, known for its expertise in identity technology, has inked an exclusive multi-year partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing. This marks their entry into the fast-paced world of Formula 1 racing.

Through this partnership, Red Bull will adopt 1Password’s Extended Access Management (XAM) services to enhance its security measures and protect its data across numerous platforms, from the 24 races to their headquarters in Milton Keynes.

In line with the partnership, you’ll spot 1Password’s branding on the team’s assets. This comes as Red Bull shifts its sponsorship dynamics, parting ways with crypto company ByBit and a few Mexico-based sponsors associated with former driver Sergio Perez. The logos will be featured prominently on driver protection devices, steering wheels, and the chassis of the upcoming Honda-powered RB21 car for the 2025 season, which will be driven by reigning World Champion Max Verstappen and newcomer Liam Lawson.

Additionally, the collaboration extends to Red Bull’s Pepe Jeans Academy Programme, which aims to promote female talent in Formula 1. This initiative supports the F1 Academy and aspiring drivers like 18-year-old Alisha Palmowski, who will compete with the Campos squad this season.

Christian Horner, Red Bull’s team principal, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the need for secure, reliable access to vital information as the new season approaches. “Our organization needs to make confident, data-driven decisions both trackside and at our factory in Milton Keynes.”

1Password’s co-CEO, David Faugno, echoed that sentiment. He noted the importance of ensuring the racing team’s productivity remains high by making security a seamless part of their workflow. “Our aim is to protect every sign-in and critical piece of information so the team can concentrate on winning.”

At the heart of this collaboration is the XAM platform from 1Password. This technology guarantees trusted access throughout the organization, securing sensitive data as the team travels globally. It focuses on maintaining secure application access, granting visibility into all tools used by the team—including any unsanctioned ones—while enabling user authentication to prevent unauthorized access.

For software development, 1Password will automate secrets management and identify unencrypted SSH keys—integrating smoothly into current workflows. Overall, this partnership promises to boost efficiency and productivity for Red Bull’s global teams, ensuring secure access to necessary tools and systems.

The 2025 Formula 1 season kicks off in Melbourne from March 14-16, with pre-season testing set for the end of February in Sakhir, Bahrain.
