Salesforce’s UK artificial intelligence (AI) centre has been unveiled in London’s Blue Fin building, set to open on June 18. The company had previously promised to invest $4bn in AI innovation and growth in the UK over a five-year period.
Following suit, Microsoft also opened an AI hub in London earlier in the year. Working on advancing language models, the Microsoft team in London collaborates with other parts of the company and OpenAI to develop AI infrastructure and tools.
Zahra Bahrololoumi, CEO of Salesforce UK and Ireland, emphasized the company’s dedication to AI technology, positioning London as the home of their first AI centre to collaborate with customers and partners for positive change.
Susan Emerson, senior vice-president of product at Salesforce, highlighted the company’s efforts to educate and inspire individuals about the potential of AI through events and workshops. The AI centre in London is a part of this strategy, supporting Salesforce users in understanding and utilizing AI within the Salesforce product suite.
Salesforce’s investment in UK companies, such as ElevenLabs and AutoGenAI, demonstrates their commitment to the UK market. The company also announced the general availability of Data Cloud Vector Database during its London World Tour, enabling businesses to analyze unstructured data sources efficiently.
Moreover, Salesforce shared that the Data Cloud will be accessible on Hyperforce in the UK starting July 31, 2024, further expanding AI capabilities for businesses in the region.
