Former MP Kevan Jones, a long-time supporter of the former subpostmaster’s campaign for justice, has been elevated to the House of Lords. This move adds another strong voice to the Upper House alongside James Arbuthnot in supporting subpostmasters over the past two decades. Alan Bates, a campaigner for subpostmasters’ rights, praised Jones’ appointment and expressed confidence in his continued support alongside Arbuthnot. Jones has been a vocal advocate for subpostmasters affected by the Post Office Horizon scandal, and he plans to continue fighting for justice for these victims. The government is yet to appoint a Post Office Minister, but there is optimism that progress will be made in seeking justice for those impacted by the scandal. Arbuthnot, who has been actively involved in the fight for justice, emphasized the need for financial redress for victims and holding those responsible for the scandal accountable. Both Labour and Conservative peers are committed to continuing their efforts to ensure justice is served for those who have suffered as a result of the Post Office scandal.
